    Some common signs that may indicate you have weak pelvic floor include: Involuntarily leaking urine during exercise, laughing, coughing or sneezing A frequent need to get to the toilet quickly (or not getting there in time) Constantly needing to go to the toilet Difficulty emptying your bladder or bowel Loss of control of your bladder or bowel Involuntary flatulence Prolapse and a feeling of heaviness, bilge or discomfort in the pelvic area Pain in the pelvic area Pain during sexual intercourse
  • What are some of the causes of incontinence?
    Urinary incontinence can be a persistent condition caused by underlying physical problems or changes, including: Pregnancy Childbirth Changes with age Menopause Enlarged prostate Prostate cancer Obstruction of the urinary tract
  • What is incontinence?
    There are commonly three different types of urinary incontinence: Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI) is the involuntary loss of urine as a result of increased intra-abdominal pressure due to effort or exertion (such as sneezing/coughing). SUI is associated with weakness in the pelvic floor muscles, impeding their ability to fully control the pelvic organs under periods of increased pressure. Urge Urinary Incontinence (UUI) is an involuntary leakage of urine accompanied by a sense of urinary urgency. As with any form of incontinence, urge urinary incontinence is usually related to weak pelvic floor muscles which make it difficult for the muscles to hold on as long. Mixed incontinence being a combination of both stress and urge incontinence.
  • Where are you based?
    We are home based business with an office in Houghton Bay. We get that people live busy lives so we also provide a mobile service at the comfort of your own home. There is an additional $20 flat fee charge for our mobile service per program.
  • Who is not able to receive a Pelvic Zhush?
    We carefully screen clients to ensure that the treatment is right for them and is safe to use. If you answer yes to any of the conditions below this may not be right for you: Are you currently pregnant? Are you less than 12 weeks postpartum? Do you have a pacemaker? Have you had a hip replacement? Do you have any metal implants? Have you had pelvic floor surgery? Do you have a heart condition / disease? In addition to the above, if you are currently in the middle of a menstrual cycle we recommend that you wait until it ends before commencing the program.
  • What can I expect during the treatment process?
    Patients report feeling a tingling sensation when their pelvic muscles contract. There should be no no pain or discomfort and no need for sedation or anesthesia. Most patients find the procedure very tolerable and typically read, listen to music, or just take time to relax during each treatment.
  • How long is each session?
    Each session is 30 minutes and can be done at the comfort of your own home or at our office (whichever you prefer).
  • How long can I expect results to last?
    After the initial treatment program clients can expect to maintain results up to six to eight months. We also recommend at least one enhancement session every six months to maintain results.
  • How much does it cost?
    Other providers in the market charge anywhere between $250 to $450 per session. At A Better You we believe that this service should be affordable and accessible to as many people as possible.   • Is there any downtime?
    No, there is absolutely no downtime and no side effects. The process is completely non invasive, clients remain fully clothed and is a walk in walk out procedure.
  • When can I expect to see results?
    Most people observe small results at after three or four session however optimal results can be observed two or three months after your last session and should be maintained for at least six months.
  • How many sessions will I need?
    To achieve optimal results, we recommend clients undertake a series of six regular sessions to tone, tighten, strengthen and lift the entire pelvic floor. The sessions can be scheduled either twice a week over a three week program or once a week over a six week program. There must however be at least two days between each treatment session.
  • What does the Pelvic Zhush feel like?
    You will experience a tingling sensation during each session as the pelvic muscle contracts., it may feel uncomfortable but should never be painful.

    We carefully screen clients to ensure that the treatment is right for them and is safe to use. If you answer yes to any of the conditions below this may not be right for you: Are you currently pregnant? Are you less than 12 weeks postpartum? Do you have a pacemaker? Have you had a hip replacement? Do you have any metal implants? Have you had pelvic floor surgery? Do you have a heart condition / disease? Do you have a BMI of greater than 35? In addition to the above, if you are currently in the middle of a menstrual cycle we recommend that you wait until it ends before commencing the program.
